Founded in 1953 as a local title agency, Austin Title provides title and escrow services for residential and commercial real estate transactions. Since its founding, Austin Title was acquired by Fidelity National Title Group, a Fortune 500 Company, becoming a subsidiary of the largest title insurance company in the world.
“This acquisition gave us the strength and support we needed to grow our company to what it is today,” says Josh Williams, president of Austin Title. “When we were acquired, we gave up our agent status and became a direct title insurer, writing on our family of underwriters which include Fidelity, Chicago, Commonwealth and Alamo.”
Austin Title’s local footprint currently includes seven offices in the Greater Austin area, including North MoPac, Spicewood Springs, Hartland Plaza, Westlake, Round Rock and Cedar Park. “We also have a title plant that directly services the Travis, Williamson, Hays and Bastrop countries, and we plan to expand our office footprint farther south, west and north,” Williams says.
Focused on providing unparalleled service to protect and provide for their clients, Austin Title works with a variety of customers. “We work with anyone involved with buying, selling or refinancing real estate, Williams says. “Our customers include principals, REALTORS, lenders, mortgage bankers, developers, builders, attorneys and more.”
In order to provide superior service, Williams focuses on developing and nurturing the Austin Title team. “My job is to support our staff along their career path by resourcing them with the tools, staff and education they need to soar as high as they want to go,” he says.
Williams adds that people choose to work with Austin Title because of the staff. “I could not be more proud to work with such a talented group of people,” he says. “They’re so good at what they do. I spend most of my time making sure they’re happy, healthy and well-resourced because we would be nothing without them.”
In addition to service, security is a main focus to the Austin Title team, having seen increasing instances of fraud-related issues. “Protecting our customers from these attacks is at the top of our priority list, and we have a lot of security measures in place to help protect them,” Williams says. “Bottom line, when you’re involved in a transaction, if you see something unusual, pick up the phone and call your title agent.”
To help educate clients on topics, such as fraudsters and security, Austin Title also offers a variety of tools and educational opportunities, from weekly education classes to technology programs to a downloadable resource library.
Whether an industry professional or homebuyer or REALTOR, Austin Title strives to customize every relationship and transaction to fit their clients’ specific needs. “If you’re a new buyer who needs hand holding and a lot of explanation, that’s what you’ll get. If you’re a savvy investor who wants us to do our job, limit communication and stay out of their way, that’s what you’ll get,” Williams says.
“We customize the experience to the client’s needs, wants and the way they prefer to do business. We are an extension of their team. In all cases, they can expect knowledge, respect and professionalism every time.” RL
