Let’s jump on board, skip the weather outlook and talk about real estate outlook. Our 2019 looks like another soaring year in home sales and developments! According to Ted C. Jones, chief economist at Stewart Title, you can expect a strong economy, lagging home construction, job growth, and increasing wages, rising interest rates and home prices with a chance of cheap energy.
Also, according to Buffini and Housingwire, these are the three economic factors to watch for in 2019:
- Experts predict the Federal Reserve will increase interest rates twice in 2019. However, increases are expected to be gradual.
- Inflation is expected to increase slightly in 2019, due in part to a strengthening labor market and tariffs.
- The economy continues to grow and strengthen, a trend that is expected to endure in 2019.
Outlooks and past happenings with Women’s Council Austin
It was an exciting January for WCR Austin! We had the honor of hosting a meet and greet with the 2019 national leadership team of Women’s Council at the top of the Four Seasons Residency, which has a fabulous outlook of downtown Austin. We held a very successful VA Boot Camp, free to members, and had breakfast, orientation and pinning of several of our new members.
Our next front came roaring in February, starting with Women’s Council of Realtors District A meeting, a super success held in Salado this year with eight networks in Texas. Then followed the Texas Association of REALTORS winter meeting right here in Austin. Every year this produces an extreme outpouring of education opportunities as well as networking with other agents, brokers and other industry leaders.
You can certainly expect super high spirits coming your way with our fourth Annual Winter White Party with Suede, from 6-9 p.m. on Feb. 20 at Hanover’s 2. Live music, food, auctions and a full dance floor will be sure to lighten your spirits and boost morale for your 2019 goals!
Feb. 27 will gently slide in behind the Winter White Party with a Legal I class that is free to all current Women Council members. The class will take place at the offices of Freedom 512 Real Estate Group and a networking happy hour will follow. RL
