By: Jennifer Lish – 2019 President

Can you believe that 2019 is coming to an end? Time just flies by in general, however coming to the end of my presidency came quicker than expected. It is like so many say, about the time you have it down and feel really comfortable it is over. I have enjoyed, learned and grown through my time the last few years on the Women’s Council of REALTORS Austin board and especially as President. In 2020, I have the pleasure to serve on Women’s Council of Texas Leadership Team as one of the District Vice Presidents. I want to thank my 2019 team Aaron Lee, Carol Hardy, Heidi Shavor, Kerri Parker, Lauren Bach and all who put time and effort to help with our education and events this year. I feel it has all been a success and it has definitely made a difference. Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your president.

A summary of our year:

We kicked off the year strong with members-only meet and greet of our National Leadership Team at the top of the Four Seasons Residences, which was exciting.

We had the VLB/VA Boot Camp, our Women’s Council of REALTORS District A meeting in Salado with Wayne Morgan and updates on TREPAC.  Several of us attended the Texas REALTORS Winter Meeting and Women’s Council of REALTORS State Installation. We hosted our annual Winter White Party w/Suede, our annual Ron King Spa networking event, Performance Strategy Session with Karissa Kouchis from Tony Robbins was so inspiring. We had our business meetings with great speakers at Maggiano’s and several new member orientations networking events. Some of our events and speakers were Robin Hart on Cyber Security, Michael Maher, Sandra Dee Robinson; Your Personal Brand “Power Boost,” as well as Brandon Schaffer speaking on safety and teaching a self-defense class, raising money for BCRC with awareness of Breast Cancer.

We had Leander Mayor Troy Hill and Cedar Park Mayor Corbin Van Arsdalespeak and give us a great updates on the cities and new developments in the area. We had Legal I and II free to members, attended all of the Texas and National conferences learning and investing in ourselves and our network. We also achieved membership goals and won state mega network for bringing in the most new members.

This year was a year of changes, learning and trying new ways. We learned a lot and we are ready for a very exciting 2020. We had our elections for Women’s Council of REALTORS Austin and are very excited about the new team of leaders for 2020.

Congratulations to our 2020 Officers!

President Aaron Lee, President-elect Kerri Parker, Treasurer Carol Hardy, Secretary Lorrie Westberry Kennedy, Membership Director Heidi Shavor and Programs Director Jill Leberknight.
