June 26: Day One – The Resource Efficient Home $150 per day

The purpose of this course is to educate the real estate agent regarding the process of constructing a green home or retrofit an existing home to desired green standards. The course provides understanding and insight regarding the sequence of steps in green home design and the selection of building materials. Students will learn about energy-efficient systems including onsite power generation and how to distinguish degree and cost- benefits of retrofitting, remodeling, or renovating existing homes. The course prepares real estate professionals to provide advice and sources of information to help homeowners improve the resource efficiency of their homes from low-cost fixes and DIY projects to retrofitting and replacing systems to big -budget remodeling projects. The course also looks at constructing a new, resource-efficient home and the value that real estate professionals can bring to the design and build team.
June 27: Day Two – Representing Buyers and Sellers of Resource-Efficient Homes | $150 per day

Representing Buyers and Sellers of Resource-Efficient Homes, the second course in the designation program sequence focuses on applying the knowledge of resource-efficient, smart, and certified homes gained in the preceding course and adapting core real estate skills to build business success in the niche market for resource-efficient homes. Learning objectives include – understanding consumer motivation and priorities; the concepts of walkability, transportation, and affordability; greening the MLS and home valuation and the listing and marketing of the resource efficient home.

About Craig Foley
Craig Foley is the founder of Sustainable Real Estate Consulting Services, a LEED Green Associate and chief sustainability officer for LAER Realty Partners. Craig’s combination of real estate and energy management skills give him a unique perspective about sustainable energy solutions and subject matter expertise on greening the MLS and high-performance home valuation and marketing. As a real estate broker, he has sold several high-performance projects in and around Greater Boston with Leading Edge Real Estate.
As a real estate consultant, he has partnered with a broad range of companies including Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratories, Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships, Elevate Energy, and the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center. Craig was one of five people in the U.S. to receive the EverGreen Award by the National Association of Realtors (NAR) in 2013. He also serves as an advisory board member for the NAR Green Resource Council and is a certified instructor of the NAR Green Designation. His committee work at NAR includes the 2019 Chair of the Sustainability Advisory Group. He also serves on the Energy Advisory Council for Fannie Mae.

We understand that schedules change and you may need to cancel a registration. Cancellation requests must be received by 5:00 p.m. one day before the event. A $10 fee will apply to refund requests received within seven days of the event. This does not apply to event bundles.
Event registration will close at 4:00 p.m. the day before an event. Walk-in registrations are accepted; walk-in rates are $5 higher than the regular ticket price.
