Providing commercial and residential real estate title and escrow services, Steward Title works with a diverse client base consisting of real estate agents, mortgage brokers and lenders, builders, commercial developers, our community and more. Founded in Galveston, Texas, in 1893, Stewart Title has seen significant growth and expansion throughout its history.
“Today, our company is dedicated to leveraging technology and maintaining our strong relationships within the real estate community and beyond, says Gaye Pierce, executive vice president for Stewart Title. In addition to overseeing day-to-day operations, one of Pierce’s larger initiatives is to focus on Stewart Title’s community presence in more meaningful ways through volunteer work, charitable contributions and local involvement.
Since its founding, Stewart Title’s number one focus has remained on the customer experience. “By the time the customer has reached the closing table, it should be a celebration,” Pierce says. “It takes a lot of hard work from everyone involved to bring together a real estate transaction. A company with our local expertise, one of the most historic title plants in Texas, and a legacy that originated in 1893, all provide the framework needed for a real estate closing worthy of such celebration.”
Within the Austin area, Stewart Title has a branch network of nine escrow offices that cover the Austin metropolitan area, including Travis, Williamson and Hays counties. “We keep a close eye on the local market, specifically growth opportunities in ever expanding segments,” Pierce says. “A great example is what is happening from Cedar Park to Liberty Hill. I see our existing Cedar Park office growing in lockstep with that dynamic geographic area. We have a few other ideas for Stewart’s expansion and will be keeping a calculated eye on these areas as we move into 2019.”
In addition to geographic growth, Stewart Title has invested in the types of technology, training and tools it offers clients and industry partners. “Our goal is to be ahead of the curve in this exciting new technology,” Pierce says. “Information technology is doubling at an exponential rate, and for some the title industry’s processes can be construed as somewhat dated. My philosophy is to bring Stewart Title of Austin in line with this technological growth.”
To stay ahead of the technology curve, Stewart Title has been launching a variety of new initiatives and products to support their clients and partners. Recently, the company launched the Stewart Now app, which provides real estate partners with tools to easily analyze business opportunities in their area and beyond.
“We are a leader in offering continuing education coursework, and we’re in the testing phase of providing virtual classrooms to make it even more convenient for our real estate partners to earn credits and participate in classes,” Pierce says. “We are also very excited to be in full swing with our eClosing initiative, which promises to reduce the time a homebuyer is at a closing table by 75 percent.”
Whether a homebuyer or REALTOR, having confidence and trust in the title company is imperative to a successful real estate transaction. Through its long-standing history and commitment to its partnerships, Stewart Title has earned that trust. “A homebuyer should always have confidence in their title insurance policy, but just as important is the ease in which the transaction concludes,” Pierce says. “As a REALTOR and homebuyer, you should have confidence in the behind-the-scenes underwriting, processing and communication. We’re proud to have forged many long-lasting relationships with industry professionals and REALTORS alike, where we truly act as a team to ensure that excellent customer experience.” RL
