Marine Corps Veteran and home loan specialist Chad Bowman opened the first Texas branch of Veterans United Home Loans in February 2014 on Greystone Drive in Northwest Austin. He has since opened a second branch in Killeen, serving Fort Hood area soldiers and their families. In managing the operations of both branches, Bowman is responsible for ensuring his team delivers exceptional service every day to military veterans, service members and their REALTORS.

Bowman’s Veterans United team provides VA and Texas Veteran home loans across the state of Texas. “We work with active duty and retired military veterans who are purchasing their primary residences in Texas using their VA home loan benefit,” Bowman says. “Texas REALTORS are our biggest customers because we are their go-to resource for VA home loan questions, even when their clients may be working with another lender.”

Veterans United Home Loans funds more VA loans in the Austin area, as well as nationwide. “VA loans take a certain level of experience and expertise, which is what we provide to homebuyers and REALTORS alike,” Bowman says. “We also provide complimentary financial education to veterans who have trouble qualifying for a new homes.”

Veterans United Home Loans in Austin and Killeen provides educational resources on VA loans by phone, by email, online and in continuing education classes direct to veterans, as well as direct to REALTORS at the Austin Board of REALTORS (ABoR). At ABoR, Bowman teaches both Home Loans for Veterans, which is a 2-hr CE class about VA and Texas Vet loans, as well as an 8-hr CE class Military Relocation Professional (MRP) Certification.

“More than anything, we’re a resource for anyone who needs help using their VA home loan benefits,” Bowman says. “Our clients appreciate that we understand the intricacies of the VA program and REALTORS see the value in working with a local lender with experience and expertise navigating the process.”

With more than 15 years of experience of helping veterans and service members use their VA home loan benefit, and having personally funded more than 1,500 VA loans over that time, Bowman has seen great growth in the industry. “Use of the VA home loan program continues to grow nationwide,” he says. “Last year, more than 610,500 VA loans were funded. Use of the VA program continues to grow year after year as more and more veterans take advantage of their benefits.” That’s why it is so important for REALTORS to get the training they need to work with active duty military as well as veterans.

Employees of Veterans United live by the company’s core values: Deliver Results with Integrity, Be Passionate and Have Fun and Enhance Lives Every Day. What this means to their clients and partners is that Bowman’s team gets the job done right without cutting corners. They care about what they do for veterans and why they are doing it. And most importantly, they enhance the lives of our most valued citizens our military veterans. In that regard, Austin and Killeen employees donate one percent of their paychecks to Veterans United Foundation, which locally gave back more than $100,000 in recent years and more than $28 million nationwide since 2011.
